The challenge

TransWorld Logistics ran warehouses in several countries on different systems, with freight bookings tracked in email and spreadsheets. Inventory figures differed between systems and customers waited days for shipment status updates.

They needed a single platform for warehousing, freight and billing with real-time visibility for staff and customers.

Problems & solutions

Problem 1

Inventory mismatches across countries

Each site counted stock differently, with no common product master or units of measure.

How we fixed it

We consolidated a global product master with UoM conversions, then migrated each warehouse in waves with cycle counts to reconcile opening stock.

Problem 2

Landed costs were guesswork

Freight, duty and handling charges arrived weeks after goods, so margins were unreliable.

How we fixed it

Landed-cost templates estimate charges at booking and true them up automatically when vendor bills arrive, keeping product costs accurate.

Problem 3

Customers chasing status by email

Operations staff spent hours a day answering 'where is my shipment?' requests.

How we fixed it

A customer portal shows live container and shipment milestones, fed by carrier tracking integrations and barcode scans in the warehouse.

What we delivered

  • Multi-company, multi-warehouse inventory with barcode operations
  • Freight booking with container and milestone tracking
  • Customs documents: commercial invoice, packing list, certificates
  • Landed-cost estimation and true-up
  • Customer portal with live shipment status
  • Inter-company billing and consolidated reporting
