Many of our clients were exporting Odoo data to Excel every week just to build management reports. Standard Odoo reporting views were powerful but scattered across apps, and executives wanted one screen that showed the health of the whole business.
Rather than building a one-off dashboard per client, we built a reusable dashboard engine that business users configure themselves.

Slow dashboards on large databases
Early versions computed KPIs on every page load, which took 10+ seconds on databases with millions of records.
We moved aggregation to optimised SQL with read_group, added per-tile caching with configurable refresh intervals and indexed the most-used filter fields.
Every client wanted different KPIs
Hard-coded dashboards meant a developer was needed for every new chart.
We built a no-code tile designer: pick a model, measure, grouping, domain filter and chart type, and the tile is live instantly.
Security and multi-company
Users must never see figures from companies or teams they don't have access to.
All tiles execute under the viewing user's access rights and company context, so record rules are always respected.
