Clients regularly asked for reports Odoo didn't provide out of the box: localised financial statements, consolidated multi-company views, landed-cost valuations, branded invoices in Arabic and English, and management packs.
Teams were exporting raw data to Excel and rebuilding the same reports every month, with inconsistent results.
Heavy reports timing out
Year-long reports over millions of move lines exceeded server time limits.
We built PostgreSQL views and materialised summaries for heavy reports, and moved large exports to background jobs that email a download link when ready.
Bilingual, branded documents
Invoices and statements needed Arabic and English side by side with correct RTL layout and tax QR codes.
A reusable QWeb layout system handles bilingual columns, RTL text, company branding and compliance QR codes across all documents.
Report sprawl
Every client wanted slightly different versions of the same report.
Reports are parameterised (filters, groupings, columns), so one well-tested report serves many variations.
