LearnFast Academy ran admissions, courses, quizzes and fee collection on Odoo eLearning and Website. Growth was fast, and during exam weeks and enrolment campaigns the platform slowed to a crawl or went down.
They needed a platform that stayed fast at peak load, plus better tools for admissions and fees.
Platform crashed at peak load
A single server couldn't handle thousands of students starting exams at the same time.
We containerised Odoo, moved to Kubernetes with horizontal autoscaling of web workers, separated long-polling and cron workers, and added a managed PostgreSQL with read replicas.
Slow course pages and videos
Video and static content were served from the application server.
Static assets and video moved to object storage behind a CDN, and frequently-read course pages are cached at the edge.
Heavy queries in quizzes and progress tracking
Progress and score computations ran on every page view.
We profiled the slowest queries, added indexes, stored computed progress and moved grading to background jobs.
